DESPEDIDA DINNER

DESPEDIDA DINNER
Sept. 9, 2000

This afternoon Paul brought us to Berkenhead Point where the office of the sophisticated fleet, the Pontoon is located. We took a look a the Pontoon, the intended venue of Paul’s wedding reception…floating along Sydney Harbour, with the beautiful sceneries at the background . From the Berkenhead Point we transferred to the City of Hyde on our way to the Olympic Park at Homebush and supposedly to the Sydney Market but it was already closed.

Our next destination was Rockdale shopping center where I bought a three-day old Philippine STAR sold in a Filipino store owned by Ka Roger and his wife. Mikee joined us, passed by her house before attending an anticipated Mass together with her family and us at St. Joseph Church.

The Policarpio family invited us to a dinner at he popular Sizzler at Kagarah where a talkative Filipina waitress, Joy Javier who is married to an Australian citizen served us. She lived up to her name as she joyfully entertained us all the way to the point of giving me a free beer and fee candies for all of us.

After inner we went straight to Brighton Beach, which, like all the other beaches we have visited is clean and very conducive to a relaxing walk after a good dinner. We passed by the Bayside Plaza in going to Cook Park where we had a good-bye chat with the family.

Through the short time that we have known them, we felt that the Policarpio family is indeed a good family. Love and unity among family members was very obvious and it is so heartwarming. It gave us a great sense of gratification that our son, Paul , has chosen his lifetime partner in the person of Michaela A. Policarpio. Perhaps Paul and Mikee are opposite in many ways but in marital life it often works better. When two dissimilar persons merge together, they form a personality that makes use of each other’s good qualities for a lifetime of harmonious relationship

LAST ROUND
September 10, 2000

WE traveled to visit a friend of Terry, Mrs. Lory Obias. After a short 'chika-chika' we went to Sydney Market then to Stratfield Plaza where Mikee met us before we proceeded to Paramatta, again passing through Homebush. Obviously there are so many visitors due to the coming Olympic games. Traffic is heavy and according to m y son he noted that even prices of goods has increased.

In Paramatta we stayed longest. I had a chance to have my two rolls of films developed and for two dollars I experienced a six minute Acupaedic massage. What is worth remembering though is the comment of one big Australian lady who said I looked very handsome. Then we have to hurry home to pack our things.
