POOR BIG MAN
WITH BIG PSYCHOLOGICAL BAGGAGE

From the outside it was another beautiful house. But the ground floor was a busy office with big people running around and seated behind tables. They have similarities, showing
that they belong to one clan (with possibly glandular and genetic propensity to obesity). It was funny that even some guests are stout persons too.

They were indulged in Construction and Development Projects. A thin lady was behind the reception counter. She was later relieved by a fat woman who looked very strict and uncaring. Bejeweled from neck to ankle, she looked very assertive except that at the moment she was dictating the “Bread of Life”, a biblical quotation, to her secretary. It was later posted conspicuously.

I examined for insurance one of t he big men. Everything was fine except that he was overweight. But the brother who was to follow him made me wait for a long time. First, he was taking a bath, then he was dressing, and then he was attending to some very important matters having something to do with their business in Tagaytay.

After all his delaying tactics he allowed me to examine him but all the time he was very aloof and very ungentle. He answered mechanically to my embarrassment.

The Psychologist in me knew that he was nursing a problem big as he was to manifest in his behavior. The problem must have started the day before and he slept with it, woke up with it, took a bath with it, and will probably live the whole day with it.

I can’t imagine what was in store for him in the next few hours unless he unloads himself of his negative baggage. I just hope he has no intention of carrying that baggage for life. Anyway he is al ready insured.
